Papaya Power Bowls

Just take a look at these beauties!  Fresh ripe papaya, filled with my favorite yogurt and topped with some nutritious goodies make for a great start to any day!  Although I live in Florida where papayas grow rampant, my love affair with them began in Montreal, Canada! We stayed in a beautiful bed and breakfast for my Dad’s wedding. They served us sliced papaya with a scoop of cottage cheese and a drizzle of honey. Just wow! This super simple breakfast was packed with tons of protein and fiber, perfect for fueling our busy day of exploring the city.

Build Your Own Papaya Bowl

Start by finding a beautifully ripe papaya. They should be firm but yield slightly to pressure, similar to an almost ripe avocado. Split the down the center and scoop out and discard the seeds. Fill your bowl with your favorite yogurt, then add some fresh, seasonal fruits.

Next, add something for crunch factor… Nuts, seeds, and granola. I looked through my my pantry to find the perfect fit for whatever my heath goals are. Added healthy fats…Nuts and seeds. Good antioxidants…dried berries and cacao nibs. I usually come up with a unique bowl everytime.
