Spring Ahead To Your Goals
If your anything like me, you couldn’t wait to get that extra hour of spring daylight! So maybe it took me a little longer to get used to waking up earlier, but it’s been so worth it. I’ve used my extra hour in so many different ways, some productive, some a little lazy. Nonetheless, it’s been good for my soul. Some days I go for a little jog or walk around my neighborhood. Other times cleaning out a closet or some household chore does the trick. My favorite though, is just spending time outdoors in the early evening, even if it’s taking time to sit and reflect.
Since it’s no longer pitch black outside when I get home from work, it’s easy to feel spring in the air. The weather is just perfect, slightly cool with that light breeze. It’s exactly what I’ve been waiting for to rock out some serious yard work. There’s something truly therapeutic to trimming back all the dead branches and frost damage from the past few months. Soon, new growth will start fresh and all will feel right again.
This cycle of damage and renewal always somehow brings me hope. The changing of the season always proves that no matter how difficult or dark things may be, there is always the future of change, strength and growth. I’ve been called a hippy quite a few times in my life, but I really am more of a tree hugger. What’s wrong with that? I love trees! Every spring, they serve us as reminders of how seemingly hopeless bare sticks can once again thrive beautifully. As I fill up lawn bags with trimming of used up old stick, I am inspired knowing that soon the empty spaces will soon be full of vibrant life!
Spring is a great time to reconnect with your dreams and goals. Take this time to look inward and see how you can correct your course to point you back towards success. Instead of the all or nothing mentality that may have failed in January, make small adjustments this time. Little adjustments, over time, can become the catalyst for big changes over time. Just look at the trees and you can see the potential you have within yourself!
